Live Music Taping Policy
Short form: AUD ok, no SBD, no video, no flash
It is of course somewhat strange that a fellow who makes his living driving around the country playing his guitar and singing needs to issue an Official Policy Statement on anything. Be that as it may, taping is a complicated reality so we need to make it clear what the rules are. We appreciate the efforts of the tapers and recognize their important contribution to the scene; these rules are no more than us explicitly laying out the usually unspoken agreement between artists and tapers.
Audience audio recordings of Keller Williams live performances are allowed for non-commercial purposes only as detailed below. Audience tapers, please be respectful of other showgoers by being as unobtrusive as reasonably possible. Beginning February 20, 2003 soundboard patches will NO LONGER be available.
All copyrights for these audio recordings are reserved by Keller Williams and any commercial use of said recordings is absolutely forbidden. Live audio recordings may be traded freely on a strictly not-for-profit basis (join the email list or search the traders page). Some venues forbid live recording and in these cases we must abide by their wishes.
VIDEO TAPING is NOT allowed at Keller's performances.
There is also NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY allowed. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Lastly, please support the artists you tape and trade by purchasing the merchandise that keeps them on the road and in fresh guitar picks. If you've taped or traded for more than two or three Keller shows, you must be some kind of fan, and it would be nice if you'd buy something when you're able. It's all really good, and quite different from the live sound. So check it out if you can, over at the KW Gear page.
